Our citizens enjoy quaint small town living in the foothills of the Ozark mountains. With it’s colorful historic past , growing business district, and beautiful overlook of the Spring River, Imboden is truly a place it’s residents are proud to call home.

Rich in history and tradition, a beautiful landscape of surrounding farmland,  nestled in rolling hills, Imboden will always be a good place to settle and raise a family.

The town was named for an early pioneer Benjamin Imboden who settled here around 1828. He was a descendant of a noble clan of Imbodens whose original homeplace were the mountains of Switzerland. The family was highly regarded for their active support of the Church, the schools, and their loyalty to government. Imboden was incorporated in April of 1889.

Located in Lawrence County Arkansas. 36 miles northwest of Jonesboro, Arkansas and 96 miles northwest of Memphis, Tennesee. There are 684 residents in the Imboden making it a small town with charm from a bygone era.

The Sloan-Hendrix school district in Imboden delivers quality education for grades K through 12 grade and has been in operation since 1899.  Imboden is within a half hour drive to two area colleges. The Bobbie Jean Memorial Library, a branch of the Lawrence County Library is located in Imboden.

Imboden residents can enjoy the city park, walking park, fishing pond, or boat launch on Spring River for a day on the water.

Imboden is the home of the annual Lawrence County Fair and PRCA Rodeo held in mid August of each year.
